Kicker Jeff Reed turned down offers from two teams after he cleared waivers on Wednesday, meaning the former Steeler will collect the remaining balance on the $1.16 million salary owed by the team.

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer has reported that the Bengals were one of the two teams that contacted Reed on Wednesday.

Reed’s agent, Don Henderson, said he expected his client to go unclaimed in waivers as the claimant would be forced to pay the rest of Reed’s salary.

"We had three calls and two offers. But we're not going to kick this weekend."

Henderson said Reed would take the rest of the week off.
