The Miami Dolphins just couldn't do anything against the Chicago Bears in a 16-0 shutout loss on Thursday Night Football. We said before the game that this would likely come down to whether the Dolphins can run the ball. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams were unable to do anything for Miami on offense.
Bears Vs. Dolphins: Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams Non-Existent In Loss
SB Nation’s The Phinsider points this out as one of the biggest problems for the Dolphins.
Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams combined for only 11 yards rushing on 6 carries. That's right - the Dolphins decided to put the game in Tyler Thigpen's hands. I said Tyler Thigpen's hands, people. Now I know that the Dolphins had to get away from the run because their dinged up and depleted offensive line was awful and Chicago's run defense is among the best in the league. But there's got to be a little bit more balance on offense, right?
Tyler Thigpen is the third string QB so you can’t realistically expect him to put the team on his shoulders when the running game is non-existent. Add into that Brandon Marshall left the game injured and Thigpen was left with little chance.
