Colt Brennan Upgraded To Stable Condition After Car Accident

The football world had reason to worry on Friday, as we learned that ex-record-setting Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan was hospitalized following a serious car accident. The 27-year-old Brennan, who most recently played for the Oakland Raiders, has been upgraded to stable condition on Saturday, says his father:

Brennan’s father, Terry, said, “This is our worst nightmare,” noting his son suffered cracked ribs, an injury to his left collarbone and possible head trauma. “You always worry about safety, whether you’re in Hawaii or on the mainland.”

[...] He said his son was in stable condition and did not have life-threatening injuries.

Brennan was a passenger in a car driven by his girlfriend, who reportedly told police that the accident happened because her brakes malfunctioned. The car traveled across the center line and struck a car driving in the opposite direction.

Thankfully, though everyone involved sustained injuries that required hospitalization, no injuries were life-threatening. We certainly wish the best for Colt as he recovers, and hope he can make it back to the football field sooner rather than later.
