Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones found little opposition from the Arizona Cardinals defense and the Kansas City Chiefs scored 31 points while limiting the Cardinals to only 13 points of their own. The Cardinals began the game by leading 3-0 on a 36 yard field goal by kicker Jay Feeley but were quickly man handled by an overpowering Chiefs offense. The Chiefs were efficient with the ball, gaining less yards than the Cardinals but found the endzone through Jones' legs and quarterback Matt Cassel's arm.

Charles and Jones combined for 159 yards on 27 rush attempts and 2 touchdowns (both touchdowns were by Jones). The Chiefs as a team averaged 5.5 yards per rush on a Cardinals defense that couldn't figure out how to stop either Charles or Jones. Cassel contributed two touchdowns of his own, both to Dwayne Bowe, along with 193 yards of passing.
Arizona was slightly kept afloat by quarterback Derek Anderson's 295 yard, 1 touchdown performance but it's defense couldn't cope with the Chiefs offensive output.
