Michael Vick accounted for six total touchdowns (four passing and two rushing) in the Eagles’ 59-28 win over the Redskins on Monday night last week. He has one out of the way through one quarter in the Sunday night game against the Giants.
Giants Vs. Eagles: Michael Vick Has First Of Six Touchdowns Out Of The Way
Of course, it’s not quite the start he or the Eagles had against the ‘Skins, where the team was up 28-0 after one quarter. Nevertheless, Philadelphia has jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the offense capped a 13-play, 68-yard drive with a four-yard touchdown run by Vick.
The menacing pass rush of the Giants have yet to bring down Vick for a sack. In fact, they don’t seem to be getting more pressure on the Eagles quarterback in general. Cris Collinsworth brought up a decent point on the broadcast that New York might just be better suited bringing more rushers on the blitz and force a quarterback that probably doesn’t still know all the ins and outs of the offense to go to hot reads to counter the blitz. So far at least, the Giants aren’t taking the advice.
