It wasn’t pretty, but then again when is a NFC East battle ever pretty? At the end of the day the Eagles are 7-3 and in first-place in the division thanks to LeSean McCoy and David Akers in their 27-17 victory over the Giants (6-4).
Giants Vs. Eagles: Philly Alone Atop NFC East After 27-17 Victory Over Giants
Eagles blog Bleeding Green Nation breaks down the pivotal play that put the game away:
The defining play of this game really encapsulated the whole night. Michael Vick bobbled a snap with the Eagles down a point late in the 4th quarter, he barely controls the ball with his fingertips and flips the ball back to LeSean McCoy who runs for a 50 yard touchdown. The Eagles overcame a potentially devastating mistake to pull out a miraculous win. That was the story of the whole game.
McCoy rushed for 111 yards on just 14 carries, and Asante Samuel accounted for four turnovers, none bigger than when he pounced on Manning’s lost fumble in Philadelphia territory with 2:51 remaining.
Michael Vick didn’t have the kind of game he had last week against the Redskins but he wasn’t bad by any means. He completed 24-of-38 passes for 258 yards and rushed for a score.
Eli Manning threw three interceptions, finishing 20-of-33 for 147 yards with two touchdowns.
