The expectations were high, Michael Vick says. Last week the Philadelphia Eagles QB played like he was in Madden '11 putting up six total touchdowns en route to 59 Eagle points. That turned fantasy football into huge Michael Vick fans and it convinced even Eagles doubters -- Michael Vick is for real.
Giants Vs. Eagles: Michael Vick Doesn’t Put Up Video Game-Like Numbers
Vick talked after the Eagles 27-17 victory over the New York Giants and his 258 yards passing and one touchdown, disappointing fantasy football players across the world by informing them he won't be scoring six touchdowns every game.
“It’s a football game and not every football game is going to be like last week and I knew that. That’s the reason why I put that game behind me when it was over. Because I knew the expectations were going to be through the roof and I knew people were going to expect us to score 50 points a game. But it’s not going to work that way especially against a good defense like the Giants have”
The Giants were in the conversation for the best team in the NFC but they’ve now dropped two division games in a row and with the competitive NFC South, a second place NFC East team isn’t guaranteed a playoff spot.
The Eagles meanwhile are sitting pretty in sole possession of first place and another game to go against the Giants. It’s looking more and more like Vick’s resurgence will extend to the playoffs.
