The Minnesota Vikings fired Brad Childress on Monday morning and by Monday afternoon interim head coach Leslie Fraizer was already faced with a big decision. Does he keep a struggling and banged up Brett Favre in at QB or does he turn to the backup, Tarvaris Jackson?
Leslie Frazier Says Brett Favre Will Start For Vikings
Frazier opted for the former at his press conference Monday afternoon announcing “without hesitation” that Brett Favre would remain the starting QB. And, really, what options did Frazier really have? I’d imagine a move like replacing Favre wouldn’t be something a head coach does in his first few hours on the job. At some point -- probably repeatedly -- the Favre question will come up and Frazier will be asked this same question again.
Favre will start for the 3-7 Vikings this weekend against the Washington Redskins in Frazier's first game as head coach. If history is any indication, it will be a struggle for the Vikings. Frazier's task is tall as he looks to turn the Vikings into a comeback story instead continuing story that is the failed 2010 season.
