Broncos Vs. Chargers Video Highlights: Philip Rivers Efficient Throwing Four TD Passes
Before the San Diego Chargers Monday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos, ESPN displayed a graphic showing that Chargers QB Philip Rivers was on pace to break Dan Marino's single-season record for passing yards. Rivers got off pace a little bit on Monday night throwing for only 233 yards but he's still on pace for one heck of a season.
Rivers did tie a career high Monday night throwing for four touchdown passes on just 15 completions as the Chargers defeated the Broncos, 35-14. That means he was averaging more than a touchdown pass every four attempts. He’s completing 65 percent of his passes on the season and has 23 touchdown passes. He’s playing the role of an elite quarterback once again for a team that is finally starting to look elite.
Rivers’ numbers put him in the conversation for the best quarterback in the game today but his playoff resume knocks him out. He’ll have the chance this season to pad that resume if he keeps playing the way he is and the Chargers keep winning.
