During Thanksgiving Day's Patriots-Lions game, with 6:32 left in the second quarter, Shaun Hill picked up a first down on a quarterback sneak on 4th-and-1 from the New England two-yard line. The Hill rush shows up innocently enough in the box score: "S. Hill rushed up the middle for 1 yard gain." But according to Hill, it was anything but innocent.
Lions QB Shaun Hill: The Patriots Were ‘Literally Trying To Break My Arm’
↵Hill, who suffered a broken left forearm against the Giants in Week 6, claims the Patriots were trying to re-break his arm on his QB-sneak.
↵↵“That’s why I eventually gave up the ball,” he said. “Somebody was down there (in the pile) literally trying to break my arm, which is already broken. Literally, trying. And, uh, y’know, I guess wasn’t seen (by officials).”
↵↵There are simply way too many drumstick/wishbone jokes there for me to know what to do with. Hand it to Hill though, who isn’t complaining, and even says he was fine with QB-sneak call: “I loved the call. Absolutely loved it. I have no qualms about running that play - one-armed or whatever. I loved the call.”
