Buccaneers Vs. Ravens: First Quarter Update, A Lot Of Defense Early

Defense has set the tone of this game early on. Both teams have been getting pressure on the opposing quarterback and the defense has been stout all-around. As a result, neither team has been able to run the football effectively.

Bucs QB Josh Freeman is off to a sluggish start, as he has completed four of eight passes for 38 yards. On the other side of the ball, QB Joe Flacco has been accurate, completing five of seven passes for 60 yards.

RB Ray Rice has been involved, but not effective; which is surprising because the Bucs run defense has been terrible this year. Rice has seven carries for 19 yards. For the Bucs, RB LeGarrette Blount has carried the ball five times for 15 yards.

A slow start to the game, but we expect both teams to abandon the run, open it up and begin racking up some passing yards soon. Keep it here, and we’ll keep you updated as the points come.
