Michael Vick had already fumbled due to pressure by Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers - twice. He had escaped a couple of poor passes and had avoided an interception for yet another game. But Vick's luck finally ran out after a season of nearly mistake-free football. Coming into today's game versus the Bears, Vick had only fumbled once (last week when the Philadelphia Eagles faced the New York Giants at the Meadowlands) and hadn't thrown an interception.
Vick Throws First INT Of The Season, Bears Build Lead To 21-13
In the red zone and approaching the goal line, the Eagles chose to pass the ball and Vick threw the ball over the middle of the end zone. The pass was met by the hand of Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher and tipped into the hands of defensive back Chris Harris, who returned the errant Vick pass for 39 yards. The interception was soon turned into a touchdown, as Jay Cutler found Earl Bennett for the second time today and the score became 21-13 in favor of the Bears.
The Eagles had come back with a touchdown throw from Vick to Jeremy Maclin and a 36 yard field goal from David Akers, which made the score 14-13.
