49ers Vs. Cardinals: Shane Andrus’ Kick Extends Niners’ Lead

In their first drive of the second half, the 49ers drove down the field from their own 30 to get to Arizona’s 18. From there, it was supposed to be a 47-yard chippy for Steve Andrus to extend the lead.

The Cardinals had other ideas and blocked the kick. Unfortunately for them, their lack of a coherent offense plagued them into a 3-and-out and the Niners got the ball back at their own 36. From there it was four minute jaunt back down the field to Arizona’s 20-yard line.

Andrus came out to kick over from almost the same spot and this time his kick went true. 24-6 Niners with a little over two minutes left in the third quarter.
