According to National Football Post's Aaron Wilson, Vikings owner Zygi Wilf personally apologized to Gus Tinucci, the co-owner of the restaurant that last Friday catered the team's fateful post-practice meal which Randy Moss said was unfit to feed his dog.
The Vikings Know Better Than To Insult The People Making Their Food
Moss' rude comments have this week been used as evidence as to why the Vikings placed the receiver on waivers. A history of callous on Moss' part doesn't do Tinucci any good. He still has a celebrity saying his food is unworthy even for canine consumption. What can someone, namely Wilf, possibly say to a retaunranteur to smooth over such a grievous slight?
Let’s explore some possibilities:
“Now, I’ve seen some fastidious dogs and then there are Randy’s dogs. One time I saw them send back filet mignon when it came out too rare. You wonder why that Moss guy doesn’t live more outlandishly. Yup, the whole signing bonus goes to doggy chow. You haven’t eaten until you’ve been one of Randy’s dogs. I own the team and even I don’t eat that well.”
”Was there bacon in the post-practice meal? Have you seen the Beggin’ Strips commercial? Of course Randy wouldn’t give it to his dog if there’s no bacon. Simple misunderstanding.”
“So, I don’t know if you know this, but Randy Moss is an asshole. Sad but true. Anyway, once we move to Los Angeles, not only will you cater our first practice, but we’ll pay for your expansion out there. Whaddaya say?”
Either that or there was simply a sincere expression of contrition. But that’s not even an apology I would offer to a dog.
