Lions Guilty Of Tampering With Chiefs, Lose A Draft Pick
In early December of 2010, the Kansas City Chiefs reportedly filed a tampering charge against the Detroit Lions. According to NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora, the Chiefs have won that charge. The Lions will be stripped of a seventh round draft pick and swap fifth round picks with the Chiefs.
It wasn’t exactly clear from where the charges originally stemmed but it was believed to start with the following comments from Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham:

Cunningham was the Chiefs DC from 2004 to 2008, and earlier this year made what sounds like an offhand remark that he’d like to set up a pipeline ferrying Chiefs defensive talent to Detroit:
If this tampering charge does involve Cunningham, then either the Chiefs think Cunningham crossed a line at some other point or are convinced some other Lions employee broke a rule.
