NFL Picks Week 16: Tom Brady And Patriots Won’t Blow Out Bills

The New England Patriots are traveling to Buffalo to play the Bills in a game that doesn't mean a whole lot for either team. The Patriots have already clinched a playoff spot and they're on their way to clinching the No. 1 seed in the AFC. They could afford one loss and still achieve that. The Bills on the other hand are 4-10 and obviously out of the playoff race.

Maybe I’m crazy but I don’t see this being a New England blowout. Don’t get me wrong -- I’m picking the Patriots to win -- but I don’t think this is three-plus touchdown victory. The Bills have been competitive this season despite their record. Sure, they can’t close out games but they’re also not getting blown out every week.

But if this were a blowout, the reasons why are obvious and the name is Tom Brady. He's having an MVP-caliber year and there aren't many teams that have demonstrated they can stop him. Bill Belichick is the best coach in the NFL and he'll be able to slow down Chan Gailey's offensive game plan. The Patriots are a smart team so the Bills will need things to go their way -- defensive touchdown, big return, etc.

These two teams played earlier in the year and the Bills actually jumped out to a lead and kept things interesting as they lost, 38-30. The Patriots are nine point road favorites in this game but I see the Pats winning by seven points or less.
