Now, I know the picture from Matt Sebek doesn't look like much, but the way the 49ers Phillip Adams' ankle bent on a kickoff return was apparently bad enough that FOX didn't show a replay of the injury.

So consider that your warning: if you don’t like ankles bending in unnatural ways, don’t click this jump.
Despite the helpful arrow, it's hard to see what's wrong with Adams' left ankle in this photo, but if you squint, you can see that his foot is under a Rams tackler and facing one way, while his angle is facing the other direction. That's bad.
Adams is a rookie out of South Carolina State, and he was carted off the field with his leg in a cast after staying down with the injury. Let’s hope this injury doesn’t end his NFL career, or end up being as bad as it looked at first blush.
