When given the opportunity to pick the best available game to attract a national audience for Football Night in America, NBC decided to go with two teams with losing records.
Rams-Seahawks Flexed To Sunday Night With Do-Or-Die Implications

The St. Louis Rams and the Seattle Seahawks will battle for the right to be called NFC West Champion, for better or worse, next Sunday night at 8:20pm ET.
↵
At stake is not only the division crown but also a berth in the playoffs. If the Rams win, that means an 8-8 team will host a playoff game in the first round. If that sounds bad, you probably don't want to root for the Seahawks. If they win a 7-9 team will win a division for the first time and will host a 9-or-10 win team in the first round.

If you're a Giants, Packers or Buccaneers fan, you're not too pleased with the idea of your 9-win team missing out of the playoffs while one of these teams gets in. But hey, maybe you should have pushed to join the NFC West instead of being so worried about being geographically-correct.
