The NFC playoff picture through 16 weeks has still left plenty to be decided including the No. 1 seed. A Falcons victory tonight on Monday Night Football against the Saints could secure the top seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. If the playoffs started today, though, the Falcons would have the No. 1 seed.
NFL Playoff Picture: Packers-Eagles, Saints-Rams In NFC If Playoffs Started Today
Looking at the NFL playoff picture if the season ended today, the Falcons would have the No. 1 seed followed by the Bears, Eagles, Rams, Saints and Packers. That means the Falcons and Bears would have bye weeks.
The Packers would be visiting Philadelphia to play the Eagles. Philly lost to Green Bay in Week 1 but the Eagles are a totally different team with Michael Vick hitting his stride. The Eagles would probably be favored to win this game in whatever kind of weather Philly wants to throw out there.
The Rams would be hosting the Saints. Yes the Rams, a 7-8 team, would be hosting the defending Super Bowl champs. I think New Orleans would be favored if that game took place.
The lowest seed would then face the Falcons in Atlanta and the Bears would host the other game.
Of course plenty can change in one week. There’s even a scenario where the Falcons don’t win the NFC south and end up as the fifth seed so plenty can happen.
