While the Rams and Seahawks are battling for the NFC West crown and the Packers, Giants and Buccaneers duke it out for the final Wild Card spot, ESPN would like you to know that a few other teams are still eligible for the playoffs.

Let’s delve into these rogue playoff contenders and see what their chances really look like.
The 5-7 Vikings - Mind you this isn't the current Vikings team. That mess of a team is 5-9. No, we're talking about the 5-7 Vikings of Week 13. These Vikings were quarterbacked by a spry, feisty gunslinger named Brett "Favre" Favre who still had his whole fun-loving life ahead of him, nothing to lose and some Wranglers full of glory. These guys are coming off a two-game winning streak, not mired in a two-game losing streak. They're hungry, they're injury-free and they're just a bunch of kids out there having fun. That's a dangerous combination.
If they win, they're in, even if the Packers, Giants and Buccaneers all win too. It's called The Gunslinger Mentality Theorem. Look it up.
Team Name (0-0) - The Name, hailing from Team, Nebraska are a wily start-up franchise that not too many “New Yorker-types” are familiar with. Sure, they’re not technically an NFL franchise, but they’ve been cleared to play in the NFL by Sandy’s Auto Parts Store in Team, NE. Sandy is a notary public, FYI. As far as they’re concerned, The Name has just as much a right to compete in the playoffs as anyone else and the idea of an NFC West team with a losing record making it in over them is sickening.
Chances are they'll miss out on the playoffs considering they have no wins, no upcoming games scheduled, don't have any players yet and aren't actually recognized by any governing football body, let alone the NFL. But they've got moxie. That's more than we can say about the Cowboys.
Team Name (0-0) - I’m pretty sure this is a typo.
