This is, undoubtedly, the worst half of football QB Philip Rivers has played this season. The early pressure and heavy blitzing Oakland brought has messed up his timing and rhythm, and as a result, he’s missed some wide-open receivers.
Chargers Vs. Raiders: Jason Campbell Making The Right Decisions; Philip Rivers Had Worst Half Of The Season
The worst was missing WR Legedu Naanee who would have had an easy 25-yard touchdown if the ball was thrown accurately to cut the lead to 21-10. Unfortunately, it wasn’t, and Rivers was upset with himself.
Somehow, Chargers are making QB Jason Campbell look like a world-beater. He has only thrown eight passes, but completed seven of them for 52 yards and one touchdown.
Oakland’s gameplan is run-heavy, and it’s working. Not only is it keeping Chargers and Philip Rivers’ prolific offense off the field, it has also worn down San Diego’s defensive front. Chargers defense must get off the field this half, or Oakland will cruise to an easy win.
This one’s not over yet, though. Expect San Diego to make a game of this. Keep it here.
