Josh McDaniels Fired: Eric Studesville Named Interim Coach By Denver Broncos
This is Studesville’s first year with the Broncos after spending 2009 as the Buffalo Bills running game coordinator. He served as the Bills running backs coach from 2004 to 2008 and in the same capacity with the New York Giants from 2001 to 2003. Before that he worked as a quality control assistant for the Chicago Bears, a secondary coach at Kent State, and a video assistant at North Carolina, among other jobs.
He has never held a head coaching or offensive coordinator position.
In 2010, the Broncos are 25th in the NFL in yards per rush and 29th in rushing yardage, though the team has a very pass-heavy offense. The Bills finished 16th, 14th, 15th, 27th, 20th, and 13th in rushing yards during Studesville’s tenure. He’s directly coached NFL running backs like Knowshon Moreno, Marshawn Lynch, and Tiki Barber.
