This is why the Ravens made a huge investment into Anquan Boldin. The Pro Bowl receiver had his best game in a Baltimore uniform Sunday and at the same time cemented his place into NFL history.
Anquan Boldin Is Catching On In Baltimore
Boldin, who signed a three-year, $25-million contract extension after being acquired by Baltimore in the off-season, had 8 catches for 142 yards and three touchdowns in the Ravens’ 24-17 victory over the Browns.
In the process, Boldin became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 600 receptions. The eight-year veteran from Florida State, reached the milestone in 98 games – four games faster than Marvin Harrison.
“Anquan Boldin showed today why we wanted him to be a Raven,” said Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh. “He’s our kind of guy. He played how we want to play.”
Boldin holds the record for reaching 500 receptions in the fewest career games, so Sunday’s record-setting performance does not come as a surprise.
Still, Boldin has easily exceeded expectations since being the 54th player drafted in 2003 – sixth receiver – taken in the 2003 draft.
