There was a lot of scoring in the first half of this game; the second half, not so much.
Colts Vs. Titans: Adam Vinatieri Drills 43-Yard Field Goal, Leading Colts To Victory
After plenty of touchdowns in the first half, both teams had plenty of “3 and outs” on offense. The last four minutes of this football game were the most exciting part, though.
The Colts were driving with under three minutes remaining in the game. Manning was picking apart the Titans secondary, and they were nearing field goal range. However, Manning handed it off to RB Dominic Rhodes who hit a hole and rushed for about six yards when the ball came loose and Tennesee recovered it.
Titans took the fumble and returned it all the way to Indianapolis’ 35-yard line, and it appeared the game was over, with K Rob Bironas warming up.
Unfortunately, Bironas never got to attempt said kick. After a Chris Johnson run up the middle, Kerry Collins fumbled the snap on second down and Colts recovered.
Manning then lead the Colts down the field hitting White and Tamme, and Adam Vinatieri drilled a 43-yard field goal with no time remaining to win, 23-20.
The Indianapolis Colts are in the playoffs, and will play the New York Jets on Saturday night.
