Jets Vs. Steelers Score: Ben Roethlisberger Injury Can’t Keep Pittsburgh Out Of End Zone

After the New York Jets won the toss and elected to defer, the Pittsburgh Steelers powered down the field. Taking up over nine minutes of time, the drive was capped by a Rashard Mendenhall lunge to give Pittsburgh a 7-0 lead.

QB Ben Roethlisberger took a knee to the hip from Jets DE Calvin Pace while running the option (!) with Mendenhall near midfield. He rose with a limp, and ha been in apparent discomfort ever since. During a challenge he spent the entire break stretching on the sideline, but was able to break a scramble for a first down later in the drive.

Also, Mark Sanchez wiping an AFC Championship booger on Mark Brunell’s jacket? Check:

He seems to sustain at least one of these injuries per game, so he should be fine. He’s also just now getting over laryngitis.

A trip to Arlington to play the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XLV is on the line in Pittsburgh. The Packers beat the Chicago Bears 21-14 in the NFC Championship Game earlier today.
