The Pittsburgh Steelers have taken a commanding 17-0 lead late in the first half. If the New York Jets have any hopes of winning the AFC Championship Game, they have only 32 minutes left to get it done.
Jets Vs. Steelers Score: Ben Roethlisberger Opens AFC Championship Game Up With Scramble TD
After Pittsburgh powered into the red zone in a much more aerial fashion than their previous thundering scoring drives, QB Ben Roethlisberger rolled out with the intention of hitting RB Rashard Mendenhall near the end zone. The Jets took away Mendenhall but couldn’t account for the QB’s scrambling as well. Roethlisberger ran in Pittsburgh’s second rushing touchdown of the day.
The previous Jets drive wound down with the traditional Mark Sanchez-Braylon Edwards miscommunication, which happens at least once per Jets game. New York is on pace to finish with about 50 yards on the day, while the Steelers could crack 450 without even passing, if they can keep up what they’re doing.
