LeBron James Speaks, And The Jay Cutler Injury Story Is Officially Dead

Just about everyone in the universe has offered an opinion on whether Jay Cutler should have left the game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, but you know, some of us are still not sure how to feel. Don't we all need a little more clarity before we can move on with our lives?

↵With that, let’s cede the floor to LeBron James (courtesy of the Miami Sun-Sentinel):

↵↵“I’ve been in Jay Cutler’s shoes. So I know how it feels to have everybody just saying that you weren’t up for the task. ... I don’t know him personally, so I’m not going to get up here and defend Jay Cutler, because I don’t know him as a teammate. I’ve never been around him. But I believe if a guy is healthy enough, he would have played.”

↵↵If anything, it’s a reminder that much like the criticism LeBron’s referring to--after his disappearing act against Boston in last year’s playoffs--we’ll never really know whether a different quarterback could have played through Cutler’s injury or not. But as the debate’s been beaten to death over the past 48 hours, this seems like an appropriate place to kill it once and for all. So, there you go. LeBron James thinks Cutler didn’t quit. The shark has been jumped, and the horse is officially dead.
