NFL Odds And Lines Week 6: Dolphins Vs. Jets

The Jets return home after finishing their road trip 0-3 to welcome the 0-4 Dolphins, coming off a bye week and recovering from the season-ending injury to Chad Henne. The Jets are big favorites to win.

The New York Jets have been through hell and back the past three weeks, suffering consecutive road losses to the Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots, dropping them to 2-3 on the season and looking up at the Pats and Buffalo Bills, both 4-1.

For Rex Ryan and Co., the bagel in the Miami Dolphins' win column reads more like an O for Oasis. The Dolphins were winless when starting quarterback Chad Henne was playing. Now, Henne is injured, out for the year, and there doesn't seem to be much hope for improvement in South Florida. Not unless Sage Rosenfels came upon spikes that were struck by lightning in the past few weeks and gained the magical power to bestow him with the ability to not be Sage Rosenfels. Or Matt Moore is decent. I believe the former is more likely.

For these reasons, our buddies at Odds Shark made the Jets open favorites by a six-point margin. Part of the reason the margin is as small as it is may be it’s the Jets vs. Dolphins on Monday night, which typically means anything can happen. However, the Jets are at home, where they still haven’t lost this year, and the Dolphins are awful. Bet on the Jets, and don’t watch the game, I say. When you’re betting on the Jets, you never want to watch the game.
