Brandon Pettigrew did something very NFL players get to say they've done: beat Patrick Willis. The Detroit Lions tight end made a nice leaping grab, wrestling away the ball from Willis. The touchdown was Matthew Stafford's 14th of the season in just the Lions sixth game.


Just to add insult to injury, the 49ers were flagged with a 15-yard penalty on the ensuing kick off when head coach John Harbaugh threw his challenge flag after the deadline. Late challenge flags were made illegal this year.
