NFL Scores Week 6: Ravens Choke Off Texans Offense For 29-14 Win

Baltimore’s defense shut down the short-handed Texans, and consistent, unspectacular offense helped the Ravens cruise against Houston.

The Ravens' dominant defense flexed its muscles against the short-handed Texans, shutting down Matt Schaub and Arian Foster in a 29-14 victory.

Schaub completed just 21 of 37 passes on the day for 220 yards and a touchdown, and Foster was limited to 49 yards on the ground, as the Ravens held the Texans offense to 293 yards and seven points. (Houston’s other touchdown came on a fumble recovery.) Without Andre Johnson in the passing game, no Texans receiver caught more than six passes, and the Texans’ longest pass was a 32-yarder.

Because of that defense, Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense didn't need to do much; that's a good thing, because it didn't set the world on fire in the red zone, with Flacco and Ricky Williams scoring rushing touchdowns on just two of the Ravens' four trips. Billy Cundiff's five field goals produced more points than the Baltimore offense.

With the win, the Ravens move to 4-1, while the Texans fell to 2-3 with the loss.
