Needless to say, that isn’t how they envisioned the season starting. A win in Detroit would put them back on track.
Peter King goes with the Lions to get back to winning this week. Only two from ESPN’s panel pick the Falcons to win this game.

SB Nation Denver editor Russ Oates explained why he thinks the Broncos will win.
Simple enough. Sports Illustrated’s Peter King agrees that the Broncos are the pick, adding “I’m happy Denver’s finally giving Tim Tebow a chance to play -- and the smart thing here would be for John Fox to give Tebow five or six more starts. Denver needs to know what Tebow is, and whether he should play any part of the long-term Bronco future.” But he still thinks the Broncos will try to #SuckForLuck.

For the second time in two years, Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan is causing a stir with his quarterbacks. In his first season with the team in 2010, Shanahan sent shock waves throughout the D.C. area by opting to bench Donovan McNabb in favor of Rex Grossman during a two-minute drill in a loss at Detroit.
Shanahan flip-flopped back to McNabb until Grossman took over the job for the final three weeks of that season and held it over the early stages of 2011.
