Beanie Wells Injury: Cardinals RB Leaves With Sprained Knee

Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells left the game in the second quarter versus the Pittsburgh Steelers with a knee sprain. Before the injury, Wells had amassed 42 yards on 12 carries. This is a team that relies on the contributions from all over because Larry Fitzgerald is their last real remaining gamebreaker.

With Wells out, the Cardinals will be relying heavily on Alfonso Smith and LaRod Stephens-Howling for their ground attack. Kevin Kolb hasn’t exactly panned out to be the elite passer they thought he might be, but with the injury to Wells, more of the load might fall on his shoulders as well.

The Cardinals are still playing the Steelers close, only down 3 in a 17-14 game in Arizona. If Kolb can loosen up and play mistake free football, the Cardinals have a chance to get the upset. We’ll update you on the injury to Wells as they release more on his status.
