The Vikings parted ways with Bernard Berrian earlier this week and the receiver went unclaimed off waivers.
Bernard Berrian Goes Unclaimed, Becomes Free Agent
Berrian went unclaimed on the waiver wire Wednesday afternoon so now he becomes a free agent available to sign with any team.
That he wasn’t claimed isn’t a surprise because whoever picked him up would be on the hook for the rest of his 2011 salary. The Vikings are now responsible for that and Berrian can sign elsewhere.

It’s been a while since he was an everyday contributor to the team. He ended the 2010 season with 28 receptions for 252 yards and this season has just seven receptions for 91 yards.
Head coach Leslie Frazier hinted this move could be a possibility after last Sunday’s game.
