Cowboys Waive Tashard Choice To Make Room For Bruce Carter, According To Report

Tashard Choice’s days in Dallas are done, according to a report. The running back will be waived to make room for linebacker Bruce Carter.

The Dallas Cowboys suddenly have a glut of running backs. And that has apparently made the injured Tashard Choice expendable: ESPN Dallas reports that Choice will be waived by the Cowboys to allow Bruce Carter to join Dallas' active roster.

Choice was dealing with shoulder and hamstring injuries this week in practice, and will be given an injury settlement if he clears waivers. Choice had just 75 yards on 28 carries in 2011 for the Cowboys, and was likely made expendable by rookie DeMarco Murray's 253-yard explosion against the Rams in Week 7.

Carter, selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, is expected to make his NFL debut Sunday night against the Eagles. Carter suffered a knee injury during his senior season at North Carolina in 2010, and had been considered a first-round prospect by some before the injury.
