After Week 3 Brandon Jacobs puffed his chest out when asked about some the Giants’ skeptics. As he told the New York Daily News back in September:
Brandon Jacobs Is Still Reminding You About His Awesome Life
“...[Fans] don’t mean anything to us if they didn’t believe in us. They can go back and finish living their miserable lives as they’ve been living and hoping that they lose and whatever.”
Playing the LeBron card, eh? Because tempting karma is always such a great idea. Fast forward a few weeks. Since his “their lives suck” comment, Jacobs has missed two games, and has 13 carries for 28 yards.
Then on Sunday:
“I’ve got nothing positive to say,” Jacobs said. “The most positive thing: I got family at home and I got a fast-ass car being delivered on Tuesday. That’s it.”
First, that’s gotta be in the running for the top athlete quotes of the new millennium. Especially since he had “nothing positive to say” after a win.
Otherwise... Sure, he may be kinda terrible these days, but do YOU have a fast-ass car being delivered on Tuesday? No, no you don’t. On the other hand, you’re not a complete asshat, so I like to think karma will even things out in the end.
