With Chad Henne’s Injury, Dolphins Plan To Sign Sage Rosenfels

The Miami Dolphins are having a tough season as it is with an 0-4 record and a coach, Tony Sparano, who is widely believed to be on the hot seat. The news got worse on Thursday when it was reported that Chad Henne, the team's starting quarterback, would be having shoulder surgery and will miss the rest of the season for the Dolphins.

Matt Moore is behind Henne on the depth chart and the team tried out former Chiefs QB Brodie Croyle and former Bills QB Trent Edwards this week.

They signed neither and instead plan to sign Sage Rosenfels, according to ESPN.

Rosenfels, 31, was originally drafted by the Washington Redskins in 2001. He was traded to the Dolphins prior to the 2002 season and stayed in Miami through the 2005 season. He's also played for the Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants.

Rosenfels has never started more than five games in one season. In his career, he has completed 62.5 percent of his passes, thrown for 4,156 yards and 30 touchdowns, along with 29 interceptions.
