Tim Tebow Quarterback Controversy Continues For Denver Broncos

Tim Tebow almost completed a comeback victory over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday afternoon, but his Hail Mary pass ultimately landed as an incompletion. However, the loss is irrelevant. The question for the Broncos is who will be the starting quarterback going forward.

This is a story that will carry on for two weeks since the Broncos are on a bye. Interestingly, the Broncos will face the Miami Dolphins on the road on Oct. 23. The two teams almost completed an Orton trade once the lockout ended, but draft pick compensation and a restructured contract ended any chance of that.

Broncos Vs. Chargers: Tim Tebow Throws 28-Yard Touchdown Pass To Put The Broncos Within Two Points

Just when it looked like the Denver Broncos would be depending on Tim Tebow to win the game with his legs, the second-year quarterback tossed a touchdown pass to running back Knowson Moreno. The 28-yard pass cut the San Diego Chargers’ lead to 28-26.

Asking for success on a second pass may have been too much to ask, however. Tebow and Brandon Lloyd failed to connect on a two-point conversion that would have tied the game with just over three minutes to play.

Broncos Vs. Chargers: Tim Tebow Scores 12-Yard Rushing Touchdown

After taking over for Kyle Orton to start the second half of the game, Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has added a touchdown. Tebow ran the ball on second-and-ten for a 12-yard rushing touchdown. A successful two-point conversion cut into San Diego’s lead to make the score 26-18.

Tebow has done little passing the ball. He has complete one of five passing attempts. Brandon Lloyd failed to get his feet in-bounds on what would have been a second completion for Tebow. Denver has just 34 yards of passing so far.

San Diego Chargers running back Mike Tolbert left his team’s week five game against the Denver Broncos with a concussion, according to the Chargers. Tolbert leaves with five carries for 24 yards and three receptions for 25 yards.

Tolbert and Ryan Matthews have driven the San Diego offense in this game, combining for more than 100 yards of offense in the first quarter alone. Matthews left the game for a little while with a strained calf, but he was able to return in the second quarter.

    Tim Tebow Replaces Kyle Orton

Tim Tebow will replace Kyle Orton in the Denver Broncos’ home game against the San Diego Chargers. Orton struggled through the first half of the game, completing just six of 13 passes and throwing an interception. Orton will not be under center when the Broncos’ offense takes the field in the second half of the game.

As the Broncos have struggled, fan outcry to start second-year quarterback Tim Tebow has been tremendous. One fan went so far as to take out a billboard suggesting that Tebow get the nod at starting quarterback.
