Frank Gore Injury: 49ers RB Nursing Sore Ankle

San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore is dealing with a sore ankle. Gore was on the sidelines to start the second half, replaced by rookie running back Kendall Hunter. So far, reports are that the 49ers are just playing it cautious with Gore, resting his ankle and letting the capable rookie take over for a series. According to John Clayton of ESPN, the injury does not appear to be serious.

Gore struggled in the first half. He went into the locker room with zero yards on six carries through the first two quarters of the game.

Gore was nursing a sore ankle after San Francisco’s win over Washington last week. The team did not believe it to be a serious injury, but they did take an X-ray just to be sure.

Gore’s status for the remainder of the game is not clear. San Francisco is fighting for most of their offensive yardage through the air.
