NFL Odds And Lines Week 12: Texans Vs. Jaguars

The Texans are road favorites against the Jaguars despite missing starting quarterback Matt Schaub.

On paper, it would seem that the Houston Texans should be rather hefty favorites over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The Texans are, after all, 7-3, including a perfectly respectable 3-2 on the road, while the Jaguars are just 3-7.

Of course, that's overlooking one major thing: The injury to Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. In his place will likely be Matt Leinart, the former first-round draft pick who hasn't made a NFL pass since 2009. You can thank this little fact for the Texans being only 3.5-point favorites on the road.

That still seems like a pretty decent bargain, though, as the Texans are more of a running team, anyway. Arian Foster and Ben Tate have helped make the Texans the No. 2 rushing team in the NFL, something we should probably expect much of on Sunday. The Jaguars are middling against the run, ranking 15th with 111.2 yards allowed per game.

What should be a little more interesting is that over/under of 44.5. The Jaguars only score 12.5 points per game and will be hard pressed to generate much offense against the Texans, who only allow 16.6 per game.
