For about seven minutes, it seemed like the Philadelphia Eagles may have got their groove back. They took a 10-0 lead on a LeSean McCoy touchdown run and Alex Henery field goal on their first two possessions. Then Tom Brady and the New England Patriots began pouring it on, scoring three unanswered touchdowns on their way to a 38-20 win.
NFL Scores Week 12, Patriots Vs. Eagles: Tom Brady Leads Offensive Explosion After Slow Start
The New England Patriots cruised to a 38-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday despite a slow start. Tom Brady threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns in victory.
Benjarvus Green-Ellis accounted for the Pats' first two scores, finding the end zone twice near the goal line on the New England's second and third possessions. Brady took over from there, hitting Wes Welker for scores twice from 41 and nine yards out. Brady scored his third touchdown on a pretty pass pass to tight end Rob Gronkowski.
The Eagles were once again left grasping for answers. While Vince Young was hardly perfect while filling in for the injured Michael Vick, he still completed better than 50 percent of his passes for 400 yards on the day. The Eagles actually outgained the Patriots, 466 to 457 total yards. The Patriots did just enough to keep Philadelphia out of the end zone however. Meanwhile, the Eagles were content to let receivers run wide open behind their secondary.
