The NFC playoff picture is becoming fairly clear with the Packers and 49ers en route to winning their divisions and the Giants, Cowboys, Bears, Lions and Falcons all in the hunt to find a playoff spot as well. If the playoffs ended today, a pair of 7-4 teams, Falcons and Bears, would win the NFC wildcard.
NFC Playoff Picture, Now Featuring The Eagles And Seahawks
So we have a pretty good idea of what the NFC playoff race looks like, and which games will affect the race.
Coming up on Thursday night, NFL Network has the Eagles-Seahawks game, a game we thought would be a good one with two defending division champions. Instead, the Eagles and Seahawks are both 4-7 and they've played more bad football than good through 11 games with both facing a three-game deficit in the wildcard race with five to play. For all intents and purposes, the'yre done.
But NFL Network still needs to create some interest in this game so this is their effort to create the impression this game has any effect on the NFC playoff race.
The Eagles and Seahawks both have less than a one percent chance of picking up the wildcard.
