It's a day of changes for the Indianapolis Colts. After firing defensive coordinator Larry Coyer early on Tuesday, the Colts announced that it would be Dan Orlovsky starting on Sunday, not Curtis Painter, who becomes the third starter for the team this season. Painter took over the quarterback duties when Kerry Collins, who was signed to replace Peyton Manning, was shut down for the season.
Curtis Painter Benched; Dan Orlovsky To Start For Colts
The Colts have decided to bench the struggling Curtis Painter in favor Dan Orlovsky in Week 13.

The Colts are 30th in the NFL offensively and dead last on defense so any changes are good changes, especially when you’re 0-11.
While Painter has been bad, Orlovsky hasn't been a whole lot better. He has a career 0-7 record as a starter when he took the reins for half the season in the Lions winless 2008 season.
The move to bench Painter may have been foreshadowed somewhat by Colts executive Billi Polian. He has a weekly radio show and on Monday night our Colts blog, Stampede Blue, wrote of his latest appearance: “Again, Polian’s tone suggesting shift in mindset. He is now ‘re-evaluating’ and ‘re-assessing’ Colts team.”
