The Seahawks have decided to place Sidney Rice on injured reserve, ending his season, after he was hurt in Week 12.

Rice’s injury history casts a long shadow over his NFL future. Three concussions is a very serious matter. He suffered a mild concussion in week 10. Rice finishes his season with 34 receptions for 484 yards and two touchdowns in nine games.
Seattle signed Rice as a free agent during the offseason to a five-year, $41 million contract with $18.5 million in guaranteed money. A number of other suitors were scared off by Rice’s injury history - he played just six games in 2010 because of a hip injury - and contract demands.
