Matt Forte Fantasy Recap: Fumbles Spoil Excellent Outing

Matt Forte wasted little time making an impact for Chicago in Monday's win over the Eagles, carrying the ball six times for 52 yards on the Bears' opening touchdown drive. He kept it up the whole game, finishing with 24 carries for 133 yards.

Unfortunately, Forte also put the ball on the carpet twice -- his first two fumbles of the season -- with his first being returned for a Philadelphia touchdown. After his second fumble, he was briefly removed from the game in favor of Marion Barber, who finished the game with nine carries for 31 yards and a short two-yard score.

The only problem with Forte’s 2011 season has been his almost complete lack of scoring. Despite 805 yards rushing and 436 receiving yards, the Bears running back has scored just two touchdowns, although both of them have come in the previous four weeks.

Despite that lack of scoring, SB Nation still pegged Forte as the fourth best option this week. To be sure, there were plenty of reasons to think that better days are ahead for the 25-year-old, especially coming off his 145-yard, one-touchdown performance in Week 8.
