Devin Thomas Injury: Giants WR Will Undergo Tests On Neck Injury

New York Giants wide receiver Devin Thomas was injured in the final play of the first half in his team's Week 15 loss against the Washington Redskins.

In the final kickoff of the second quarter, Thomas was injured and stayed down as time expired. He lay on the field, surrounded by Giants personnel, as the halftime band set up for their halftime show. He was eventually carted off the field on a stretcher and the halftime show was canceled.

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News is reporting that Thomas will undergo tests to determine the extent of the injury, which is currently believed to be some manner of spinal injury. The tests will hopefully determine whether he injured a disc or merely suffered what is known as a “stinger,” which generally carries minimal long-term effects.
