AFC Playoff Scenarios: Broncos, Ravens Can Clinch Division Titles In Week 16

The New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos all have games this weekend that could affect the AFC playoff picture. The Patriots can clinch a first round bye and possibly even homefield advantage throughout the playoffs, the Ravens can clinch the AFC North title and the Broncos can clinch the AFC West title or a playoff spot.

As of now, we have four teams that have clinched playoff spots. The Texans (AFC South) and Patriots (AFC East) have clinched division titles. The Ravens and Steelers (AFC North) have clinched playoff spots.

Here are the rest of the playoff scenarios for Week 16:

The New England Patriots have already clinched the AFC East title so they're already guaranteed to be one of the top four seeds. What they're trying to do now is clinch a first round bye, which means ending up as one of the top two seeds in the AFC. They can do that in a variety of ways including: 1.) Win plus a Houston loss or tie; 2.) Win plus a Pittsburgh loss or tie and a Baltimore loss or tie; 3.) Tie plus a Houston loss; 4.) Tie plus a Pittsburgh loss and Baltimore loss. The Patriots can also clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs if they beat the Dolphins and the Texans, Steelers, and Ravens all lose this weekend.

The Baltimore Ravens have clinched a playoff spot already and they can wrap up the AFC North title this weekend with a win plus a Pittsburgh loss and a Houston loss.

The Denver Broncos aren't in the playoffs yet but they can get the AFC West title in two ways: 1.) Win plus an Oakland loss or tie; 2.) Tie plus an Oakland loss and a San Diego loss or tie. The Broncos can clinch a playoff spot if they win plus a Jets loss and a Bengals loss and a Titans loss or tie.
