The Denver Broncos quarterback situation is a unique one, to say the least. When John Elway took an executive job with the Broncos Tim Tebow was the quarterback and Elway never seemed fully committed to him. Even during Tebow's winning streak, Elway had said he didn't know if Tebow was the quarterback of the future.
Tim Tebow Takes Another Step To Becoming Denver Broncos 2012 Starting QB
But on Tuesday Elway spoke with the Associated Press and gave one of his strongest endorsements yet for Tebow as the 2012 starting quarterback.
"Tim Tebow's not going anywhere," Elway said. "I mean, he's going to be a Bronco and we're going to do everything we can and hopefully he's that guy."
Broncos fans weren’t overly concerned with the possibility that the Broncos would move away from Tebow but the rest of us had only heard Elway sorta, kinda support him. This is a much stronger statement.
It’s hard to deny 7-2 as a starting quarterback in the NFL this year. Tebow has a style like no other quarterback but, as Elway knows (or will soon know), the only stat that matters is winning.
SB Nation’s Mile High Report says of the Elway interview: “I think it is obvious, if it wasn’t before, that Tim Tebow will be the starting QB for the Broncos in 2012.”
