Detroit Lions Pro Bowl wide receiver Calvin Johnson missed a second consecutive day of practice with an injured Achilles tendon, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Johnson, who ranks second in the NFL with 1,437 receiving yards and is tied for the league lead with 15 touchdown receptions, hopes to be able to play in Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

“I had some things bothering me at the end of the game there so just trying to be as fresh as possible going into the game,” Johnson said on Wednesday.

The Lions have already clinched a playoff berth -- the franchise's first since 1999 -- but can solidify the fifth seed in the NFC Playoffs with a win over the Packers on Sunday. Remaining the fifth seed would mean a trip to either the Dallas Cowboys or New York Giants on Wild Card Weekend, whereas falling to the sixth seed would result in facing either the San Francisco 49ers or New Orleans Saints next weekend. The Saints and 49ers beat the Lions during the regular season.

The Lions did not play the Giants during the regular season, but beat the Cowboys 34-31 in Dallas on October 2.
