Not that we're breaking any news, but you've gotta have some money to attend a Super Bowl. Super Bowl XLV tickets are running just under $2,000 -- on the cheap end -- and the closest parking spot is rumored to be over $900 (I saw $200 parking about a quarter mile away on the way into Cowboys Stadium in Dallas).
2011 Super Bowl Concession Prices: How About A $19 Cowboyrita?
If you love your Green Bay Packers or Pittsburgh Steelers, I suppose you'd do whatever you could to get to the game.
But once you get into the game, the high prices don’t stop.
You want a 20-ounce Pepsi? Six bucks.
The cheapest beers are $10 which is slightly higher than the regular season price, according to one vendor.
And if you want to get fancy, there’s something called a Souvenir Cowboyrita -- $19. One vendor estimated he could drink four or five of those before becoming a little too tipsy. (Sorry, I’m working, or else I’d test ‘em out.) He did, however, note that he couldn’t actually afford to buy four or five of them.
But do you think the high prices have hurt business? Not a chance. The lines are for the concession stands are so long it’s obstructing foot traffic from section to section.
