As if the NFL couldn't get any stranger, we now have comments from Democratic party strategist James 'Rajun Cajun' Carville to NFL owners that apparently upset St. Louis Rams GM Billy Devaney.
Rams GM Tells James Carville To ‘Stick It Where The Sun Don’t Shine’
Here’s what ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted had to say explaining it:
James Carville told NFL owners, coaches and execs that the Republican party’s presidential candidates are as weak as the NFC West. After Carville’s NFC West comments, Rams GM Billy Devaney made it clear he didn’t appreciate it. He confronted and cursed Carville.
SB Nation’s Rams blog, Turf Show Times, was obviously a little perturbed at those comments until NFL PR man Greg Aiello cleared things up and indicated that while Devaney did tell him to “stick it where the sun don’t shine”, the two left as friends and he didn’t curse him. (Schefter says despite leaving as friends, Devaney was not pleased)
With the NFC West's first place teams finishing the season at 7-9, Carville's joke wasn't that far off-base. Then again, the New Orleans Saints may have thought the same thing in the wildcard round of the playoffs.
